Cafe Portico is a recently opened Urban cafe in the heart of historic Lincoln. It's owners Ellie and Charlotte Wade are a mother and daughter team, who pride themselves on delicious food, fresh ingredients sourced locally, great service and a relaxed atmosphere.

Ellie who was has had years of experience in the patisserie and food industry who's always dreamt of her own cafe, felt the time was right to venture in to a new business.  Daughter Charlotte has worked many years in catering and customer service in Lincoln and London, and says " We already have a queue at 8.30am when we open and it's been non stop since we opened a fortnight ago.  People thought we were mad to open a cafe in a recession but business is booming!""

Cafe Portico opened it's doors on May 5th and has been a hit not only with local businesses, but shoppers and residents who want somewhere to relax with delicious food in the heart of the city. The cafe has a contemporary and airy interior with the added bonus of outside dining, giving it the Cafe culture feel Lincoln is trying to promote.

Jane Means is not only a fan of Cafe Portico but will also be helping with wrapping and presentation skills for the staff says "Word has clearly spread after a few weeks of opening that this is the cafe of Lincoln and the cakes are to die for". She adds "Even during the recession everyone has to eat and it's great to find a cafe with a lovely atmosphere in the middle of a bustling city where you can retreat with the papers".

Cafe Portico also has daily specials, lunch menu and an alchohol licence if you prefer a savoury snack and a glass of wine....It's a great place to chill out.
