'Granny Peg'

Frances Margaret Wright

2nd February 2008

Those of you who have attended the courses at the Watermill over the years

will remember my Grandmother Peggy who was a real character.

She was a great support and was always busy making soups, cakes, and

other old fashioned favourites and loved course days (where students would

smile at her speeding out of the drive in her late eighties leaving a trail

of dust and flying gravel!)

Known to me as 'Pegleg', She always said at the end of the day

when we had our G+T.. "They are just such nice people

who come on your courses"

She sadly died on 2nd February at home and will be greatly

missed by all who knew her.  Her hard working attitude and

unique character will always stay with me

Over 300 people attended her funeral on 12th February

with people travelling as far afield as Scotland and Holland.

Jon Ryden did a fantastic tribute and had the whole church in laughter and tears

It's been a great comfort receiving so many emails and cards from those

of you who met her and tributes have been pouring in

She was 90 and a remarkable lady who gave so much of her life to

charity work and helping others.  She also attended a

Garden Party at Buckingham Palace several years ago
